From Peeling Yellow to Showstopping Green: David's Rockford Repaint
After
BeforeSome jobs you just remember. David is one of our favorite clients, and his Rockford home turned into one of our favorite transformations, because the “before” was rough.
When we arrived, the place was in extreme disrepair. The shingles were falling apart, the front porch was getting rebuilt, and we swooped in to secure the exterior paint. The siding was buried under an ugly, peeling yellow that didn't match the home's character, or the poise of the inside, one bit.
Here's the part most people underestimate: prep. Before we opened a single can of paint, that house got scraped for two to three full days. We weren't padding hours; that is what it takes for a finish to actually last on siding that's been let go. Do NOT let your siding get to this point, because the longer peeling paint sits, the more prep and money it takes to put right.
Color is where it got fun. This is exactly what our design consultation is for, and we offer it to every client who has us handle material and color selection. David picked a wonderful deep green for the body, paired with Sherwin-Williams “Polar Bear” as a crisp accent. The combination completely changed the home's personality.
The result speaks for itself. Drag the slider above and watch a tired, peeling yellow turn into a home with real curb appeal. This is the kind of drastic before-and-after that reminds us why we do this.
